Help from ICAR-NIASM, Baramati staff amid Covid 19
ICAR-National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management, Baramati, came forward to help the migrant labourers who stuck amid Covid19 lockdown situation. Monetary contribution was made by all the staff of ICAR-NIASM to buy and distribute the grocery items to the poor migrant labourers. A kit consisting of grocery items like, Wheat (5 Kg), Chick pea (1 Kg), Tur (0.5 Kg), Rice (3 Kg), tur dal (1 Kg), Cooking oil (1 Litre), Turmeric (100 g), Salt (250g), chilli powder (250 g), Jeera (100 g), Onion (2 kg), Potato (2 Kg) and Parle biscuits (2 Pkt) were prepared. 86 kits were handed over to the village accountant of Malegaon (Bk), Baramati for its distribution to the needy migrant labour families under lockdown condition due to Covid19. Dr. Himanshu Pathak Director, ICAR-NIASM, Baramati interacted with the village accountant to understand the real situation amid Covid19 lockdown and promised in extending the help under emergency in future.
