Celebration of International Yoga Day 2019 at ICAR-NIASM on 21 June, 2019
ICAR-NIASM has been celebrated the 5th International Yoga Day on 21 June, 2019. On the occasion of 5th International Yoga Day common Yoga Practice was organized in first session. The session started with chanting of prayer followed by body relaxation exercises. This was followed by standing yoga postures (Tadasana, Vrixanasa, Pad-hastasana, Ardh-chakrasana and Trikonasana), sitting asanas (Bhadrasana, Dandasana, Vakrasana, Ardh-Ushtrasana, Shahankasana, Uttan-Mandukasana and vakrasana) and slipping postures (Makarasana, Bhujangasana, Shalabhasana, Uttanpadasana, Ardh-halasana, Pavanmuktasana and Shavasana). After this Pranayama exercise was carried out that included Bhastrika, Kapalbhati, Anulom Vilom and Bhramari Pranayama. The session was concluded with Dhyana practice, Sankalp and the Prayer. Total 51 participants along with the Director were present in this practice.
Workshop on ‘Yoga for Mind for Stress Free Life’ was arranged with the help of Tej Gyan Foundation, Pune. Mr. Amit Amrutkar representing Tej Gyan Foundation took over the session by playing motivational videos and direct interaction with the audience. The message related to Swikar (the acceptance), Swasanwad (Self Talk) and Pratisad (Response) was meant for training the mind for stress free life through Yam and Niyam of Yoga. Total 140 participants were present for this mind training session.
