On the occasion of celebrations under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav an event was organized on 26.11.2021, at ICAR-NIASM, Baramati on theme ‘Agriculture and Environment: the citizen face’. As a part of program around 60 students from Vidhya Pratisthan’s Dr.Cyrus Poonawalla School (VPDCPS), Baramati, Pune participated in the program. Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director, NIASM in his remarks told the students about the importance of agriculture and farming community in nation building. He also highlighted students on the issue of climate change and its impact on agriculture. Dr. Rajkumar delivered a lecture on “Opportunities in agriculture sector for entrepreneurship and employment”. He briefly explained about the educational, professional and entrepreneurial opportunities in agricultural sector to the students. The students also visited the institute ATIC (Agricultural Technology Information Centre) facility where students are made aware of various institute technologies, research activities and literature were also provided to the student participants. Mr Rajkumar, Mr K Ravi Kumar and Dr D D Nangare coordinated this progamme.
