Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit (AKMU)

The Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit (AKMU) at ICAR-National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management (ICAR-NIASM), Baramati serves as the Institute’s central hub for information and communication technology (ICT), digital knowledge dissemination, and scientific information management. As an integral part of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the Unit supports the effective management, organization, preservation, and dissemination of scientific and institutional information, thereby facilitating efficient communication, digital access, and knowledge sharing across the Institute.

AKMU is responsible for maintaining the Institute’s ICT infrastructure, official website, digital repositories, networking systems, e-governance services, and audio-visual documentation. The Unit also manages scientific publications, institutional databases, digital communication platforms, and provides technical support for seminars, workshops, training programmes, webinars, and other virtual and hybrid events. Through these activities, AKMU contributes to strengthening the Institute’s digital ecosystem and ensuring effective dissemination of scientific knowledge and institutional information.
