ICAR-NIASM participated in PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana launch programme

Baramati, October 11, 2025: The live telecast of the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana launch programme by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji was successfully organized at ICAR-National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management (NIASM), Baramati, and viewed by more than 550 farmers from nearby villages and staff (302 male and 248 female) through virtual mode. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation by farmers and institute staff members, reflecting the growing interest in modern and sustainable farming technologies. The event at commenced with the arrival of guests, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and rendition of the ICAR and NIASM songs, setting a solemn tone for the occasion. Dr K Sammi Reddy, Director, ICAR-NIASM graced the function as chief guest. Shri Jaywant Salave, Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat Mundale was guest of honour for the function. Dr K Sammi Reddy extended a warm welcome to guest of honour and all participants. In his remarks, Dr Reddy highlighted the institute’s ongoing research and outreach activities aimed at building climate-resilient agriculture in semi-arid regions. He also appreciated the DAPSC team for carrying out the various activities for upliftment of the beneficiaries. On this occasion, the chief guest and guest of honour distributed dairy kits under the DAPSC scheme to selected beneficiaries, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and empowerment of marginalized farmers. The live broadcast of the Prime Minister’s national event from New Delhi was streamed at ICAR-NIASM, during which Shri Modi Ji launched major agricultural schemes worth ₹42,000 crore, including the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses. Farmers attentively listened to the Prime Minister’s address on agricultural modernization, crop diversification, and sustainable farming. The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr NP Kurade, Chairman, DAPSC implementation committee, thanking all participants and organizers for the successful execution of the programme. The technical sessions were held afterward. The farmers expressed appreciation for the informative and interactive session, describing it as a valuable platform linking national agricultural policy initiatives with local-level implementation and innovation.
