Agricultural Technology Week 2022 at ICAR NIASM in collaboration with KVK Baramati during February 09-13, 2022
The Krushik: Agricultural Technology Week 2022 was jointly organized ICAR-National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management, Baramati Pune, Maharashtra and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baramati, Maharashtra during 9th to 13th February, 2022.
Near about 2000 farmers visited ICAR-NIASM to witness the live demonstrations and the experimental plots during the Krushik Agricultural Technology Week 2022.Visitors were the Farmers, FPO group, women SHGs, students also and they get acquainted with the information of different technologies of NIASM.
Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director, ICAR-NIASM also discussed with students as well as farmers about climate resilient technologies at ATIC NIASM.
Heads of the Schools, Scientists, YPs, Field Assistants coordinated the visits at ATIC as well as on experimental field plots. They gave detail information as well as demonstration of NIASM agricultural technologies which can help the visitors for understanding the mandates of Institutes and importance climate resilience research in present era.
At ATIC, informative posters of different project activities, different fish species as well as posters of different agricultural schemes displayed. Display of Models of different technologies like Black Soldier Fly (BSF) beneficial insect protein source as feed for poultry, fishery, Waste Water Management model, samples of Climate Resilient Varieties and genotypes of field crops as well as orchard crops, Fish Museum with different fish species, Hybrid dragon fruit seedlings samples, Medicinal plants samples, different insect collection a etc. At ATIC, ‘Fish Museum’ and ‘Black Soldier Fly’ Unit become the main attraction for the visitors.
The KRUSHIK – Agricultural Technology Week 2022 had also focus on Live Demonstrations of agricultural technologies and machineries for farm mechanization, Conservation agriculture and SORF machine for sugarcane, live demonstration of dragon fruit technology, technology for establishing orchards of all fruit crops on shallow basaltic terrain, , Medicinal and herbal garden, Livestock and fishery experimental ponds, hydroponic and vertical farming, Climate smart Integrated Farming System (IFS) unit, waste water management unit Genetic stock garden..Butterfly Garden, Field plots of Quinoa, Chia etc,. etc at NIASM
Farmers from several parts of Maharashtra visited the event. Arrangements as per covid guidelines were strictly adhered by the organizers and also the visitors. To simplify information dissemination visitors were encouraged to use QR- NIASM app that gives audio-visual information of the various activities carried at the institute.
The Krushik 2022 generated enthusiasm among farmers/ visitors particularly for the abiotic stress management options specially climate resilience genotypes, varieties, horticultural crops as well as technologies, different farming systems.
