Farmer-Scientist Interaction Meeting at ICAR NIASM, Baramati

A Farmer-Scientist interaction meeting under DAPSC 2024-25 was organized at ICAR-NIASM on 11th July 2025 to distribute inputs and impart training on the use of Dal Mill. ICAR-NIASM, DAPSC implementation committee organised the programme for SC beneficiaries for the upliftment of their livelihood. Mrs. Sunanda Pawar, Trustee, Agriculture Development Trust graced the function as Chief Guest and Dr K. Sammi Reddy, Director, ICAR-NIASM, presided over the function. About 50 SC male farmers and 74 SC women from Self Help groups of different villages, DAPSC members and scientists, technical and administrative staff of ICAR-NIASM had participated in the meeting. At the outset, Dr N. P. Kurade, Chairman of the DAPSC Implementation Committee, informed the farmers about the DAPSC scheme. Dr Bhaskar Gaikwad, informed about the functioning of the Dal Mill. Distribution of Dal Mill was carried out to five Self Help Groups of SC women from different villages, which were identified with the help of KVK Baramati. Plastic utensil kits were distributed to 37 SC beneficiaries from Kalamb village.

Dr. K. Sammi Reddy, Director in his address emphasised the importance of the Dal Mill for improving the livelihoods of women's groups and urged the beneficiaries to maximise their benefits by utilising the machine effectively.  Mrs. Sunanda Pawar, Chief Guest in her address applauded the institute for its prominent work for helping the Farmers and asked the women beneficiaries to learn how to use the machine and work hard in collaboration with NIASM and KVK for further marketing aspects of the products for getting maximum benefit out of this Dal Mill. Dr Santosh Godse, KVK Baramati informed about the selected groups of women and assured them all sorts of help in future for getting the maximum benefit of the input provided. Meeting was concluded with vote of thanks  Dr. A.V. Nirmale. Dr. K. Ravi Kumar organized the eeting as the convener along with other memebrs of DAPSC viz., Dr SS Pawar, Dr DD Nangare, Dr SB Chavan, Dr VD Kakade, Dr Aliza Pradhan.
