Pre-Institute Research Council (IRC) (10^th) meeting of ICAR-NIASM was held on April 08-10, 2020 through video conferencing. The meeting was chaired by Dr Himanshu Pathak, Director. Heads and scientists of all the school and senior Technical staff of the ICAR-NIASM attended the meeting. The meeting was started with a brief presentation about the purpose and expectations by the Director and was followed by presentation of achievements during 2019-2020 by Heads of four Schools on April 08, 2020. Each of the 23 scientific staff participating remotely through video conferencing were given a chance to provide their comments and suggestion for further improvement. All the scientists of the ICAR-NIASM presented their research work on April 09-10, 2020. Director NIASM strongly recommended for one flagship research project and a few (3-4) focused research projects for every School. He urged the scientists for submission of Research Project Proposals for external funding in different agencies such as DST, DBT, NFDB, RGST, RKVY and also private organizations. He also suggested for technology and product development in collaboration with other Institutes, private organizations and farmers. Special emphasis should be given for bringing out high quality publications in reputed journals. Video conference facilitated by IT section of the institute made a way for about 23 online presentations which was acknowledged by Director.
