“Swachhata Pakhwada” campaign at ICAR-NIASM during December 15, 2021 to January 02, 2022
As a part of ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’, ICAR-NIASM, Baramati organized various events during 15th December, 2021 to 2nd January, 2022. On 15th December, 2021 all the staff have taken ‘Swachhata Pledge’ which was led by Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director, ICAR-NIASM, Baramati. Swachh Bharat Committee (SBC) displayed Banners at major places like institute gate and main road. On the same day after ‘Swachhata Pledge’ more than 100 participants including the staff members and farmers were watched Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Address on Natural Farming (virtual live programme from Gujarat). On 16th December, 2021 Weeding Out Committee and SBC reviewed the progress on weeding out old files/records, disposing of old and obsolete furniture’s, junk materials and white washing/painting and suggested to speed up the process by framing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) or flow chart and grouping files based on standard categories. On December 16th & 20th 2021 group of farmers (115) including 15 women farmers from Chandrapur district visited to “Climate smart integrated farming system” (CIFS) unit under MIDH program of State Agricultural Department of Maharashtra. The agricultural officer’s appreciated the efforts of the ICAR-NIASM Baramati for demonstrating various climate resilient and green technologies. The visit was assisted by Dr. S.A.Kochewad, Dr. Sangram Chavan, Dr. Vijaysinha Kakade, Mr. Nilesh Dhumal and Mr. Akash Shinde of CIFS projects. An awareness programme cum campaign was organized at Primary school at Malegaon Khurd on 28th December, 2021. NAISM staff discussed with teachers about Swachhta activities and cleaned premises of school building, playground by collecting plastic wastes and encouraged to keep school promises neat and clean by distributing dust bins. As a part of fostering healthy competition among staff conducted Essay Writing and Quiz completions on 29th December, 2021. On 30th December, 2021 ICAR-NIASM staff (50) visited Malegaon Khurd and discussed ongoing Swachhata related activities with Gram Panchayat members. Along with village people NIASM staff participated in cleanliness drive at premises of temple, gram Panchayat and public roads. As a part of ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ the sports ground was pruned and cleaned. Young professionals, students/ staff uprooted Parthenium and other weeds at premises of playground. The cricket tournament was organized in the same ground on 31.12.2021. On 1st January 2022 as a part closing ceremony of ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ distributed prizes to winners of essay and quiz competition organized. In order to promote waste segregation and compost preparation, Swacch Bharat Committee (SBC) distributed the dust bins to NIASM staff including residents of NIASM quarters located at Campus and MIDC, Barmati. Further, dust bins also distributed to Hostels, Crèche, Canteen and Guest House. Committee also visited kitchen gardens maintained by NIASM quarters residents and appreciated their effort in cleaning and utilizing the available space.
