ICAR-NIASM, Baramati organized  a Field Day cum Awareness Programme on Triple Super Phosphate (TSP) and Liquid Fermented Organic Manure (LFOM) on 10^th September 2026 to showcase the field-level impact and practical benefits of TSP and LFOM under two externally funded project ‘Comparative assessment of effectiveness of TSP over DAP as a source of P in different cropping systems’ and ‘Network project on effect of liquid fermented organic manure (LFOM) on crop productivity and soil health in selected agro-ecological zones in India’, funded by Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, GoI. The programme was conducted in D2, and K5 plots, and in Malad farm of ICAR-NIASM.  At D2 plot, the farmers were shown the comparison of use of TSP and DAP in Maize crop. The farmers were shown the benefits of application of TSP, as an alternate source of P, for Maize cultivation. Similarly, at the Malad farm, the farmers could see the effects of application of TSP in comparison to DAP, in sugarcane. The benefits of use of TSP were impressed upon the farmers, with the message that alternate sources of P can be explored in the backdrop of current geopolitical situation and availability of P fertilizers. Dr. K. Sammi Reddy, Director, ICAR-NIASM, graced the event and encouraged the farmers to explore alternate source of P like TSP, and also to know about LFOM and its usage. During the Awareness programme, the scientific staff of NIASM, namely Dr Rinku Dey, Dr KK Pal, Dr Nintu Mandal, Dr Aliza Pradhan, and Dr Naveenkumar A. interacted with the farmers and gave them valuable insights into the use of TSP compared to DAP, and benefits of LFOM.  A total of 30 farmers attended the programme, including 2 women farmers, from villages of Phaltan, Malegaon Khurd, Jalgaon Supe, Tardoli, etc. The participants appreciated the use of the different interventions in cultivation of Maize, Sugarcane, and Soybean.
